Congress copies Hippy sit in

June 23, 2016

The generation that dropped out, turned on, and protested Viet Nam war did grab news media with dramatic demonstrations. 1960’s has images and memories that survive today. It is hysterical that career politicians want to play being Hippy protesters against “the establishment” of career politicians.

The current demonstrators in Washington D.C. are not marching down the street with banners.  These senior citizens in suits and cocktail dresses are sitting down for protesting that nobody will let them vote on some gun bills.

Nobody has flowers in their hair, if they still have hair!  They did some camp fire singing about “We shall overcome!”  Nobody turned on with smoking a joint or dropping acid.  The major challenge these fake protesters face is that nobody really cares about them.  They do not look sad, or mad.  They look like old people sitting around bitching.  Nobody even brought out a guitar to sing a folk song like ‘This land is my land!”

LGBT mass murder in Orlando has added fear of death by violent religious fanatics.  The ISIS killer did use guns for mass murder. Nobody believes or feels safer with some new gun law as a response to fear of future killers.  The Democrat response to killers with guns, is to put flowers into the gun barrel before being killed.  Actually, the politicians will not be near any carnage as they are merely acting for commercial news media.  LGBT are taking gun instructions and buying guns for self protection.

The increase in violent attacks seeking publicity for ISIS does get our attention.  This is becoming more common place.  A plan to protect ourselves for personal safety has to include selecting a means for self defense.  Nobody has the luxury of hiding on some tropical island far away.  We the people do not see protesters in Congress doing anything to improve our safety.

I favor Warren Buffett’s approach to Congress..or Senate for that matter. Make them accept the same healthcare and retirement we have and limit them to one term if they fail to balance a budget. Oh and remove the lifetime salary…enough of that nonsense.
